I was never her fan. I just downloaded her 2nd album “Call, Call, Call” and took a listen. She’s a typical Korean Pop singer. I wasn’t a big fan of Kpop lathough you could probably hear Korean songs layed on our house.
She committed suicide because of depression. Frustrated with earning so much, she reminded me of famous actress Lee Eun-joo (Scarlet Letter, Phoenix, Lover’s Concerto) who killed herself also last year. Now, it seems to me that Koreans were kinda obssessed with earning money which is weird since they’re one of the developed country in Asia. I’d understand if it’s in the Philippines (esp. the show business) since we’re poorer but then, I don’t see news a lot. All I know is we’re full of scandals. Another is the suddenness of their death. LEJ was days before she would graduate college when it all happened. And U;Nee according to reports is about to release her third album this Februrary 1. Must be the pressure to earn big (which was the reason specified on LEJ’s suicide note). Another alarming factor to her death was supposedly the criticisms she get from online fans and detractors.
Her wiki was just updated. I accessed her wiki yesterday and it has not yet the entry about her death. God bless her soul.
