There’s Life After the Philippines for Sandara Park

19 11 2007

Old joke: Does Sandara Park? ???:

People actually think Sandara Park is just a pretty face and no substance at all. Whatever, she might sell in Korea. Dubbed as "The BoA Clone" (since they look similar) she’s set to debut in Korea after her training. I hope it’s an actual, hard training and I hope it would all turn out well for her. I adore this girl’s determination to make it big. She might not be totally at her best, but you can’t blame her. To quote that Juliana Hatfield song, "(He’s) in a bunch of movies, really stupid movies. It’s not entirely (his) fault, (he) can’t control it all." ABS-CBN made her that way.

Judging from her previous career here in PH, it’s all popularity and foolish
acting that she had. And the way she sang in her records isn’t all brilliant. I
don’t know how’s the ratio of haters and fanatics now. But I’m guessing that
many people who were her fans before deny-to-death that they like her before.
People are just cruel.

Still, I think BoA trained for years while she’s just new. She can’t be BoA in 2008. But I’ll take a glimpse when her Korean debut comes. See ya, Krung-krung. (WTF does Krung krung mean?)

Dance with DJ Doc MV

19 11 2007

To self: How can you hate your sister when she plays this song to you while you’re sleeping every Sunday noon?

Oh, and DJ DOC was the group that referred to Baby VOX as "Miya-ri Vox." Miya-ri is a neighborhood in Seoul famous for prostitution. And, I love posting Baby VOX’s picture, so here is one!

2007 Asia Song Festival

An event worth noting this year is the 2007 Asia Song Festival in Seoul, South Korea. I don’t think this is a competition but I’m happy that Filipinos in Korea get the chance to see a live Filipino performance from Barbie Almalbis where she sang her quite old song, "Torpe". Last year, it was Kitchie Nadal who performed "Bulong". Some noted that she’s great out there since she sang and play her guitar unlike the usual lip-synch-and-dance number. And I love her checkered coat. Haha. Wish I could see some snow too so I could dress up like that. . I’m almost familiar with all the artists who performed, too bad I didn’t get to watch it. Ha!

Here’s the list of performers:

- Lee Hyori from Korea
- Golf & Mike from Thailand (part 2) [ Fight for you]
- Lam Truong from Vietnam (part 3)
- Barbie Almalbis from Phillipines (part 4)
- Super Junior from Korean (part 5) [Don’t Don]
- Vanness Wu from Taiwan (part 6)
- A-Mei from Taiwan (Before from China)(part 7)
- Gigi Leung from Hong Kong (part 8)
- Kuraki Mai from Japan (part 9)
- SG Wannabe from Korean (part 10)

Thanks to eternitykiss10 for the videos. Head me up if there’s any video missing.

Be careful!

19 11 2007

ANNOUNCEMENT: I got a TOS Warning this morning. I think I would cut down some parts of this blog which includes the 900+ Korean albums to download post. I don’t think I could post megaupload, rapidshare links as well.

More than public service, I want to have some inner peace. Sorry.
