I discovered Imago through my musical best friend, Eden. She gave me a burned CD copy of Imago’s first album, "Probably Not, But Most Definitely" which she bought legally, by the way. In the CD, you can hear Imago warn their listeners not to pirate and distribute their album thru sharing and should buy. Of course, it got me scared that made me ask myself, "should I continue doing this?" I’m glad I did considerably that I’m a big Corrs fan back then. Both bands has violins.
The first album is something new for the OPM (Original Pilipino Music) pop scene back then. It isn’t even pop. It sold less compared to their future album, but it made big in the Indie music scene. Some still wonder what ever happened to Imago’s old sound. Their latest album, Blush is more pop-oriented. It is mainstream pop. I think it is mainly because they lose the violin sections that made them pop rather alternative. There’s still some showing of Aia de Leon’s songwriting prowess they’re more towards having fun rather than serious stuff. I would like to think of Imago as the Philippines’ Jaurim.
