Finally, an Internet connection at Home

7 05 2008

Now, first of all, I hate to use the word "Finally". It sounds as if I’m a positive person.

I am not.

But yes, finally, much of my previous posts were all about whining on my [lack of proper] Internet connection at home, I (or more importantly, my brother) made a decision to get a subscription plan for a DSL connection. It’s his name signed on the documents, but I will pay for the all the charges. Oh, when will I be old enough to process my own papers?

We’re all connected now on Digitel’s Bida Plan 999. Wait, here’s a quick shoutout:

Damn you, SmartBro for not attending any follow up on my brother’s application for a broadband connection! A week has gone and no replies, all people we knew says, you install at least a day after the application, although the service mostly sucks after that.
Did you ever think we can’t pay? My reason now not to lose my job is because I need more money to pay more monthly bills!

Now, I don’t have anything against SmartBro (after all that font size). For the last two months that I use my prepaid to access their 3G service, it’s fairly fine (but I hate unfinished downloads just because, well, I ran out of load.), that’s why I’m hesitant to go Digitel. Because Digitel dialup simply sucks in our area. Now, I don’t really follow people’s recommendations that "this is good" or "it’s simply amazing" (heh!) or "you’ll be sorry" (although I listen and mostly remember their rants, whenever I’m experiencing spazzes on my own connection) because I always believe that it differs from locations. A friend lives in further north of Bulacan (Guiguinto), but she gets much decent connection than me whose near Manila (must be because she’s near the capital city).

We are not getting anything spectacular, but it is bearable. Right now, it’s just me and my sister who’s into YM and Friendster, so it’s just me who’s downloading Arashi stuff. I’ve been here for 3 hours now and I think I can manage to sit in my chair until I lose all patience for another 3 hours to finish. It is slow. But at least, it never breaks yet. You know how frustrating downloads with no resume. I think Mediafire don’t resumes. If I get mad again, I’d just play my DS.

On another news, I signed up for a free webservice yesterday. Still waiting for the confirmation thing but nothing happens. Then I started receiving lots of spam emails again… hmm…

UPDATE: Just tonight, my brother informed me that he finally received the text confirmation message from Smart so finally we could push through with the SmartBro application.

Wow, I missed this post since it was only yesterday that I got the chance to visit your blog again! You already have a net connection at home? Hmm, explains why you have a lot of posts ever since my last visit. And you can finally use the YM??? Yipee..

Oh Yeah! (sounds like an Arashi Song) *winks*

Hey, just got home from work, I almost never see AnS tonight, well, I got to see at least half of it. I wanna download! Sho on trampoline, though have no idea why he’s the only one in trampoline.

Yep, I can go online now at home! Though I don’t chat or post a lot, I’m mostly just downloading and wake up the next morning to check, hehehe!

Do you watch their variety shows online? Hmm, I haven’t tried them yet as I don’t know how to go about it. Hahaha, even if there were instructions posted here! Is your ym add same as the email add you gave me in aibakaland? I’ll add you just in case we get the chance. Hahaha!

solution2008progess: I haven’t tried this since I’m on Vista and I don’t know if that would work. Anyway, we’re using Digitel’s Bida Kit, no wifi, so I don’t know if this will work for me. still, thanks for the info.
