I’m still experiencing aftershocks of the HanaDanF and Maou overload from last week (and count last last week as well), I don’t know if I’m ready for the real thing tomorrow. I told Pat, I’d watch/download the raw of the first episode, much like what I did for HnA and the rest will depend on that episode if I will get them raw or not (which is just fine, coz I don’t live in Japan, my viewership doesn’t count in the ratings). It’s info overload like this that makes me want to take a rest from the fandom and go back to listening to Eisley. With rest, I mean total rest, no blogging, no blog-surfing, no downloading (downloading resumes after new sets of subs come out, heehee.)
So, why am I now scared? I’m scared for Riida, if he’ll ever match up with the fan’s expectations. And with expectations, I don’t mean Ohno-in-the-shower scenes. If ever my imaginations would permit an image like that, I wouldn’t need a TV drama for that. I’m afraid for Ohno for fans like me, the hard-to-please type. What if I’m actually looking for an acting so superb that I would be missing the whole point of the drama? Sadly, I haven’t fully watch his butai, only glimpses of it, because everyone says he’s good at it. And I’m afraid that if I’ll watch it fully, (even without the helpful subs), myself would expect an out-of-this-world kind of acting, so high that I might miss the joy of watching it, just watching Riida doing his "thang". It would be like a dialogue between my two self: "It’s Ohno’s first acting role in a full-series drama, why won’t you like it?" "So what if it’s his first drama?"
And from the preview/digest on Ousama no Brunch, I am not satisfied. His image/acting on Speedstar would even suit me better.
And I don’t know why. Maybe it’s his role, his expressionless face, but no, it’s just necessary for the story.
Ah! I think I got it. It’s the darkness of the drama, literally, it’s almost like Kurosagi in many aspect, the sets, the lights, the story, the theme song. (Btw, I like Kurosagi. It’s the only Yamapi series I totally fell in love to.)
Coupled with Riida’s darkening skin color. Please Riida, save the face! Dark face doesn’t go well with a dark light (dark light?!). And with a dark hair. You’re getting too much sun! Ohno Mama, please give him Block&White Sunblock cream or any of its equivalent in Japan! Call me insane/unpatriotic/how-dare-you kind of girl, but Riida’s pictures below reminds me of Wengweng (if you don’t know Wengweng, don’t bother to know, you’ll never like what you’ll see, and I wouldn’t even bother to post his picture beside him because I also believe that Ohno doesn’t look like him. AT ALL. It’s just that I can’t help be reminded by these picture taken from arashigroups’ vox)

I’m sure wherever this caps appeared, it’s fun and I should download it (if I haven’t yet), but I don’t like these caps (or the TV monitor of whoever recorded this, j/k.) Ok, Pat, you can shoot me now.
(Hmm, somehow I’m happy I made this post. It sets my perspective of the drama a little better, I should just enjoy it. I hope I can enjoy it.)
So, see you tomorrow night! Either through KeyHoleTV, TVU, or the LJ community downloads for watching the much-awaited first episode of Maou. Internet traffic would once again suffer…
