A Maou Review

8 07 2008

I hate to use Maou as the title because I’m pretty sure you read enough Maou from this blog already.

But I am writing because it’s Pat’s first time to watch the first episode because she doesn’t want to before (she suffered pain from the Himitsu no Arashi Maou SP episode). But I did my best, sold my soul to Satoshi Ohno (he didn’t return my telepathic call though), just to make her watch it on her iPod, and she’s ready to face that Maou glare, watch the awesome intro, hear Riida "take yer life for evaa".

Pat, did you dream of Ohno after I pm you lots of shower+towel scenes wishes last night? Maybe if we had more sleep, it could actually work.

Okay, just because it’s been 4 days already, I watched it twice on raw, I thought I could make decent reviews of the first episode (because the show deserves decent reviews). But then, I remember, I don’t make decent reviews. Since I don’t do decent English. And reviews are everywhere already. So I’ll try to make this short so I could catch some sleep.

Nino who played the son of Riida’s client was a passerby in a tunnel asking Riida, "hey Riida, are you the Riida of Arashi? So what? Defend my father on court because you’re the evil lawyer in this drama right, right? I so admire you that you have a drama already this year, while I, I-have-no-drama-at-this-moment-but-I’m-just-fine-ok-
I-can-survive-my-depression, I am just here, pretending to threaten you (or stalk, whichever you prefer) that if you won’t help my father, I will BE A REGULAR GUEST on your show, I promise!

Then Riida answer, "okay, it’s okay to stalk me… I’ll ask director-san to give you a MORE PERMANENT ROLE. Like, I heard you’re a good magician? Why, I could just I hire you as my tarot card consultant in this drama. How to shuffle like a pro, ne? Or a card dealer in a casino where I play almost everyday just to drown my pain away at the lost of my brother. If only Johnny-san allowed Chinen to play as my younger brother, it’ll be perfect! But of course, we three won’t have a scene altogether or that would get the HIGHEST RATING ever by a drama in Japanese television history."

Then the director say "CUT!"

Nino patted him and said, "That’s a long line Riida, I need to call the other members and celebrate!"

Oh no, I don’t want to be a fan fiction writer ever, no, no, God, please stop me from typing… please stop me.

Riida gave him a thin smile and showed him a calling card from Clinto Eastwood-san, "Berlin, Nino, Berlin!"

That night, Nino found himself with in a room with a piano playing his song, "Gimmick Game" 4 times slower than its usual tempo.

I’m so lonely… I want to sleep. I’m still hoping for the proper review post. (Oh, and if there’s someone with the piano sheet for Gimmick Game 4 times slower than it’s usual tempo, please send me a copy, onegaishimasu!)
